plough, bw, work

photo: david lindley in the andes, we watched this man toil and were quite glad we were decadent western tourists instead of (really) having to work for a living; high altitude, heat and poor pay were his problems, let alone trying to keep the oxen on the straight and narrow. it set me to thinking how different our lives are to those of people in the third world - or even a second world country such as venezuela - and are we really the better for it?
