![]() photo: david lindley we've had the argument many times with people on our travels who refuse to eat in the street stalls with the locals; mainly their argument seems to revolve around places like this butcher's stall and goes something along the lines of: i'm not eating here, have you seen the way the meat is kept in the markets and on the stalls? now i can see the point of this argument, but we look at it slightly differently. meat in hot climates will go off quickly without refrigeration, so less tends to be kept and it is sold quickly and hence the food will often be fresher than that sold in hotels, which could be kept in god knows what state in kitchens that we don't get to see (and probably wouldn't want to either). | |
