probably the wurst meal in the world?

as if your average german sausage (frankfurter, bratwurst or whatever) isn't bad enough as it is, someone in berlin had a bright idea and came up with 'currywurst'; the idea caught on and now it's hard to walk down the street without seeing someone selling them. well, being the good tourists that we are, we thought 'when in berlin...' and decided to plunge in and try the local delicacy. now, i know that english cuisine hasn't got a great reputation internationally but if we were going to come up with a curried sausage then i'm sure it would have been just that; curried. in berlin though that's a culinary step too far. here you receive a plate, with a roll, and on the plate you have a sliced frankfurter, smothered in warm tomato sauce and with a minute sprinkling of mild curry powder. err, and that's it. and it's the taste sensation that has swept the city.
