 photo: david lindley within norman foster's dome a ramp spirals up to reach a roof terrace with a 360 degree view of Berlin. the strange mirrored cone in the middle is apparently designed to draw light into the debating chamber below. somebody commented that the dome reminded them of city hall in london: also designed by norman foster, it too boasts a spiral ramp up the inside of the building. it is though on a far bigger scale than this building, which obviously planted the seed of the idea in his head. | |
