![]() photo: david lindley graffitti - art or vandalism? a subject that has raised its head on many occassions on various sites. i can't claim to know the answer, but i do know that i wouldn't want it on my wall! this week however we're going to be showing a variety of images taken in berlin of graffitti and we'd be interested to see your opinions. berlin is a city where, if you stand still for more than around ten minutes, you run the risk of being tagged. like many european cities it's a big problem. the city fathers, in their wisdom, decided to create a graffitti area where presumably the hope was that the youngsters would work out their energy on walls unseen by the public. a laudable idea but it just seems to me that it now gives them a meeting point where they can swap tips unmolested by the law, and hone their skills before heading out to practice on more desireable walls. | |
