 photo: david lindley numbersixvalverde - a name to conjour with, and the name of the horse that romped home in the grand national yesterday, ending years of pain for me. sue's rank outsider would inevitably earn her a pretty penny and bragging rights for a year, whilst my (well researched and well fancied) horse would fail to start/fall at the first hurdle/die or, if i was lucky, complete the race without ever troubling the commentator; leaving me to wonder whether it'd actually ever existed. fast forward to today, a couple of bottles of bubbly and a mild headache later, i still feel great: the bragging rights having been snatched back from the grasp of sue and her folks. today's photo therefore seemed apt; the angel of david's success peeing on the grave of past failure - until next year of course! | |
