 photo: david lindley ducks! thousands of them, huddled tightly together by the roadside, making a terrific racket: an unbelievable sight. there was no fence to hold them, just some kind of flock instinct, if one brave one waddled off then the flock almost flowed in that same direction behind. then we noticed men with long sticks resting languidly against a truck, out of the afternoon sun, and realised that these must be the...duckherds? our hearts sank as we realised that these lovely animals must have been rounded up for the pot.... to be continued. | |
