![]() photo: david lindley a final shot from the tea plantations in the munnar region; a soft misty rain was starting and the light dropping as we returned to our base. as we decended the hill a stream of bats began to shoot out of a small cave by the roadside. it was an amazing sight and the noise was tremendous as they clicked their way out into the open. i've no idea what type of bat they were; small (about the size of a swift) and extremely speedy they unfortunately didn't hang around long enough to be photographed in such low light. after all we'd seen and done, this somehow seemed to cap off our stay in the hills: tomorrow we would decend back to the heat and humidity of the coast and travel to kochi, home of jewtown and the famous chinese nets. | |
