 photo: david lindley it's hard to resist the temptation, when posting a portrait, to project onto the subject your own thoughts about what that person was thinking, their mood and their lifestyle at the time the photo was taken. take this shot: at first i thought he had an 'is this all there is?' kind of expression, then i thought that that kind of thinking is really quite limited to a certain type of person who has the time, money and upbringing to be able to enjoy such concepts; then i thought he was 'pensive', well possibly he was but perhaps he was just enjoying a much needed break and was basking in the sun; finally i thought (upon my latest inspection of the photo and the tilt of his eyes) perhaps he was just wondering when the guy with the camera was going to sod off and leave him in peace! | |
