![]() photo: david lindley far to the right of burnmouth bay is a shelf of rocks that, at low tide, is home to a colony of atlantic grey seals. from our little cottage we could hear their slightly eerie bark floating across the water, so decided to see how close we could get to them. walking past the last houses in cowdraith we jumped down off the sea wall and started our (mildly hazardous) scramble across the sharp and slippy rocks to where we figured they were. unfortunately we got to a point where we figured the risk to the cameras outweighed the benefits of edging closer but the seals were still just too far away for sue's 70-300mm lens; we had to content ourselves with using binoculars and enjoying the sight of them and taking the odd shot such as this. | |
