![]() em>photo: sue lindley after our fabulous trip to the farne islands, we took a short drive up the coast to the picture perfect village of bamburgh (pronounced bam-bur-uh). dominated by the imposing bulk of the castle above it, bamburgh has a couple of good pubs, a quintessentially english village green and a huge, beautiful and empty beach upon which to play. (and, most importantly, it also has the historical significance of being my first address upon this planet when i was a babe in arms!) after a couple of hours in the pub, slaking the thirst that had developed out on the isle, we decided to while away the remainder of the evening on the village's glorious beach. | |
