![]() photos: david lindley taken from the castle grounds, this structure is known as the lilburn tower. originally built as a watchtower it certainly has had a fantastic view to watch over for all of these centuries; with the gracefully curving beach of embleton bay being just below and the majesty of the north sea to its rear. sue and i set up roadtonowhere originally as simply an outlet for our photos; we had no ambitions for it beyond it being somewhere we could catalogue our daily travel through life. over the past year though it has changed and has developed far more into a catalogue of our travels full stop. the strictly linear nature of the way we post the images too has meant that there has been no real place we could show any of the other shots we've taken in that period of time. consequently we have decided to set up another site for these other, non-specific shots - and a place too for perhaps some old archive shots we have never got around to posting to date. we may, or may not, post on a daily basis; we'll see how it goes. and of course, if you have a spare moment, we'd love you to pay a visit to the new site. | |
