 photos: david lindley after, shall we say, much fun and games in our overnight stop at miami airport we finally arrived in belize on christmas day. without pausing for breath we were on the road northbound, heading for our first stopover in crooked tree. en route we stopped off for a short while to visit the confusingly named community baboon centre: confusing in that there are no baboons in the americas, belizeans using this name to describe the indigenous black howler monkey, a breed only found in this country. unforunately, i cannot remember the name of our guide for the visit but i do remember him telling us that he was over seventy years old and that christmas day was also his birthday. | |
