colibri house

photo: david lindley

another time-travel shot from the 1950's! as placencia was once an island and access was only by boat, there was no need for a road in the town. as a consequence, the 'high street' is a narrow 1m wide concrete path, built upon a base of thousands upon thousands of conch shells, that winds its way between the hotels, cabins, bars and shops that make up the town.
