 photo: sue lindley if only i'd been listening to the guide (who went into the most exhaustive detail about the history of tikal and the mayans) instead of wandering around taking photos and trying desperately to keep out of the stifling heat, then i might be able to tell you something about this temple. but i wasn't, so i can't! what i can tell you is that the steps, incredibly steep as they were, were not the way we had to go to get to the top; alongside it was an even steeper ladder that was the only route up: if you look closely you will see a little group of people who hade made the trip earlier | |
