this is el templo del gran jaguar, built above the tomb of king moon double comb in the 8th century; some 180 jade burial goods alone were found in the tomb along with other items including some used for sacrificial purposes (more of which tomorrow). the temple is 44 metres high; the steps in front are steep - two people tumbled to their deaths down them not long ago and they are now closed to the public.
