 photo: david lindley it seems it's ages since i've been here, so firm has been sue's grip on the tiller recently (so to speak)! this fine narrowboat was our home (sue and i and the in-laws) for a long weekend: 67 feet long, about 6 or 7 wide, it contained: two bedrooms, bath/shower and toilet, galley kitchen and living room complete with TV and video. all the comforts of home...just elongated! driving it was easy: forward and reverse gears only, but steering was tricky till you got used to it. to steer right you had to turn left on the rudder, which seems counter-intuitive; worse than that though is that there's a delayed reaction in the boat turning, which results in your first hour or so of cruising the canal being punctuated with wild swings across the canal as you try to make small adjustments to your course | |
