![]() photo: david lindley the wikipedia entry on the kennet and avon canal has far more information than i could detail in my little notes section, so i'd recommend anyone interested pops over there if they're interested in seeing the route we took and a potted history of the structure. we started at hilpeton marina and toodled on down to bath and from there back; no great mileage but you don't go anywhere fast on a narrowboat, that's not the point. it is great to moor up and stop off at quaint little villages (with equally quaint pubs!), to chill out and relax without a great amount of traffic to bother you...although it can get congested to use the locks along the way. just below the ridge along which the canal runs, sue and i came across this lake with the remains of an old mill. the rusty colours just grabbed me. | |
