namibia

photo: david lindley

finally we're (just about ready) to get on and post shots from our recent trip to namibia. no excuses now; the dog is back to his foot-chewing best now, the garden has been napalmed and we've pretty well sorted out the arguments over which of the 1800 photos of elephants is actually worth posting!

namibia is unlike anywhere we've been to date. at times it seemed like an alien landscape: parts of the country made the conspiracy theories about the mars probe film being faked seem quite plausible; there were areas here that could have easily acted as a body-double for our red neighbour!

this first photo was taken on our first evening. the light was dying rapidly when we came across our first sighting of wildlife; blue wildebeest out towards the horizon of this flat and virtually featureless region.

oh, and happy thanksgiving to all you canadians who drop in to visit!
