 photo: david lindley over 2500 engravings have been found cut into the face of the massive boulders strewn around the ground at twyfelfontein ('doubtful fountain') in damaraland; evidence has been found of habitation here for 5000 years. the local bushman guides say that the engravings are almost maps and signs of the game that can be found in the area, which is even more interesting when you see the picture of a seal...twyfelfontein is 100km from the sea across the most inhospitable terrain imaginable! | |
