![]() photo: sue lindley okakuejo is one of three camps set up for the visitor to etosha national park; each is alongside a watering hole so that there's always a good chance that you would get to see something coming across the plains for sustenance. the best time to go though is the dry season; in the wet season water is abundant here and so the water holes - so close to humanity - are often ignored. we were lucky, we parked and dumped our gear before noticing an audible buzz around the place and people rushing towrds the observation area...we rushed down in pursuit to see a herd of elephants arrive at the watering hole. flat-track bullies, no-one argued with them and the hole was soon theirs alone. | |
