 photo: david lindley the festival of songkran - thai new year - is a water festival whereby water is offered to buddha and other local deities in order that the rainfall be guaranteed for the forthcoming year. this image is of the more serious offerings: outside on the streets and for up to five days the people offer each other, and any stray tourist, water blessings; once suitably blessed they often then offer their victims a flour blessing! | |
