 photo: david lindley the village of bran is overshadowed by a picturesque castle where, according to the romanian government, dracula (the original vlad the impaler) was supposed to have lived. In fact vlad never impaled anyone there and indeed the locals don't even think he set foot there (or landed of a moonlit night). never mind, it hasn't stopped a thriving trade in dracula memorabilia and trinkets establishing itself in the village. this house is supposedly original and sits inside the castle grounds unaffected by the hoards that throng the stalls outside. | |
