 photo: sue lindley every year i attend the royal international air tattoo (riat), which takes place at raf fairford in gloucestershire during july. this year in particular was brilliant, helped by the glorious weather, over 150,000 people attended and about 300 aircraft participated. personally i love the whole atmosphere, the shapes of the aircraft, the incredible noise, the fabulous patterns carved in the sky, the smell of the hog roast in the background, and of course all the pilots in their uniforms! | |
