![]() photo: sue lindley the capybara is the largest rat you are ever likely to see! at over a metre in length and weighing in at a whopping 50kg, the capybara is officially the worlds largest rodent and unbelievably cute to boot. in the llanos wetlands region of venezuela they're also extremely common: they live in small family groups and seem to spend most of their time sunbathing by the waters edge; if you get too close to them they simply stick their collective noses in the air and wander off into one of the many ponds and lakes in the area (seemingly dismissive too of the many cayman that share their living space). | |
