for five days we've travelled upstream to reach angel falls. it's the rainy season and you're in a dugout canoe; sometimes the rain is so heavy that you can't raise your head to look up, it's just too painful, like hail.

every bend you travel around though brings a new, awesome, vista: tepuis rearing up from the rainforest; waterfalls cascading down their sides; an ancient mystery as you slowly pass underneath.
