 photo: david lindley one morning we walked along the rio guadalfeo; apparently the opposing forces in the civil war used to dump bodies into the river, but today it's bone dry apart from a small trickle on one side and trees and shrubs dotted the bottom of the river. on one side the hills were terraced and well kept, the other had fallen to disuse and none of the farms seemed occupied. this was one such farm, grand in its day but now the roof had collapsed, the floors overgrown with cactus and the terraces crumbling, just the sort of place we love! | |
