![]() photo: sue lindley as you drive from the alpujarras towards albuñol, the terraces of olives and almonds begin to be replaced by small vineyards where they grow the grapes to produce the rosada wine so popular with the locals (and the rtn). we had heard that the venta at haza del lino was a good place to stop en route to albuñol in order to try the wine; a good enough reason to go there to our mind. it was a lovely late afternoon so we sat outside and asked for a couple of glasses, which duly came along with a wonderful tapas of cooked pork and the local cat (male, and blessed with pomegranite sized balls!!). the wine itself was slightly hazy, fairly strong and very more-ish, unfortunately though i was in charge of the car so that was that. however i did ask the waiter if there was anywhere local i could buy this wine and he disappeared inside the venta to reappear a minute or so later with a 1.5l pepsi bottle filled with the stuff, which he promptly sold us for the the astronomical sum of €2.60! | |
