![]() photo: david lindley our hotel was a converted monastery up between the castle and petrin park. the area wasn't so touristy, most people barely straying too far from the obvious attractions of charles bridge and the old town square and our stay was all the better for that. One evening we found a little local bar with people crammed together on benches along large tables. there was a menu but nothing vaguely recognisable to be seen in english and no-one spoke it either so we just pointed and hoped for the best. We hoped for the best and ended up with a couple of dishes of who knows what; needless to say the locals were bemused to see a couple of foreigners chewing away with fixed grins and trying to wash it down as soon as possible! the hotel was lovely and i have to say the view was worth paying for in itself: we awoke, threw open the shutters and saw this; petrin park spread below us and then the shape of the old town hall visisble through the mist in the background. beautiful. | |
