photo : david lindley strahovský klášter after a long day walking around prague we arrived at the gates of the strahovský klášter, which apparently was one of the most important seats of learning in medieval europe. opposite the entrance though, perhaps in the old stables of the monastery, was a very attractive pub from which could be heard the sounds of a group of men performing what we presumed was old folk songs. what a dilemma: pub-monastery, monastery-pub? the pub won and we never sampled the delights of the philosophers hall or the theological hall. | |
